Miss Wood's Introduction Footprint


 



Description: This is my introduction footprint! In this activity, we needed at least 3 different types of media! We had to use consideration when putting all items onto our footprint. Each media is placed in a specific spot with no smudges of glue, crayons, markers, etc. We also have to make sure every piece is secure to our footprint. Our name has to be clearly written and easy to read from a distance. We needed to have good use of balance in design and placement with our objects or symbols varying in shape and size. Each object or symbol has to represent something about ourselves.

Extension Activity: For my extension activity, I choose to do an all about me poster! In the poster, they will get to include all the same information that I included on my footprint; favorite food, what a dream of theirs is, where they are from or if they have lived anywhere else besides the town we live in or what their house may look like, things they like to do in the summer and winter, people who mean the most to them, their birthdate, their favorite place in the world, some people that they like spending their time with, and what they want to be when they grow up. I will call this the ME poster. I remember doing an activity like this while I was in school and remembered always liking it! Some people may call this the "All About Me" poster or the "STAR" poster!

One Line, Bubble Painting

  Activity Description: In this activity, we had to create a one-line drawing. For my one-line drawing, I chose to do mountains with trees next to a lake! I based my inspiration on home. It is based on a little lake named Pactola. We then used Kool-Aid colored water to create bubbles and paint our picture using the bubbles! It was so much fun! We had to list what we chose to make and the colors we used. Extention Activity:  For an extension activity it would be really fun to make students go outside and make a one-line drawing of an object. Then they would have to record the colors of that object so that they could come inside and bubble paint their real-life one-line drawing! They would then do a write-up about why they chose that object to draw.

Illusion

Activity Description: In this activity, we created an optical illusion! We used rulers to come up with a design. When we colored it in we could not have the same 2 colors touching. We created a pattern that tricks your eyes after you finished. We also had to include 4 media we used on this piece of artwork.  Extension Activity: For an extension activity, I would have my students make an illusion quilt! Each student will get a paper to design to create their personalized illusion page. I will add all the square designs together to see how big of an illusion we can make! My students will then get to see all their artwork in the hallway and see the illusions of all their other classmates!

Picasso

  Activity Description: This assignment was supposed to be a similar piece to Picasso's Starry Night artwork. We had to do many layers! We started with a light or dark piece of construction paper and then began gluing tissue paper onto it to create a sky. Next, we cut out another piece of construction paper to create a silhouette. Then we glued the silhouette on and had to use color on top of our art piece to create movement. Overall, I thought this project was very fun!  Extension Activity: For an extension activity off of this I would have my students write a story that takes place at/on the landscape that they made. I think this would be a good art lesson to integrate into English. The story would have to have character, a setting, and a beginning, middle, and end! These projects combined would create a really fun expressions project!
